The short version
- A trial registry lists studies, their plans and, in many cases, their results.
- A patient registry gathers information about people with a condition, often over time.
- Joining a patient registry is not the same as joining a clinical trial.
Trial registries
These are catalogues of clinical studies. They exist so that studies are visible, plans are on the record and results can be found.
Patient registries
These collect information about a group of people, such as those with a certain condition, to help researchers understand it over time. They are usually run by hospitals, universities or patient organizations.
Not the same commitment
A patient registry usually asks for information and sometimes follow-up surveys, but does not involve a study treatment. The details are in the registry’s own information and consent materials.
What to ask
Ask who runs a registry, how information is protected and shared, and whether you can withdraw. We do not run or recommend registries.
Regisara is an information website, not a medical provider, research sponsor, study site, or recruiter. It does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, run or recruit for studies, match you with trials, or share your details with study sponsors, research sites, or other partners. Nothing here is medical, legal, or financial advice.
